Chiemsee

Called "the bavarian sea". It is the largest lake of bavaria (Lake Constance is not a bavarian-only lake!) with plenty of access possibilities. the best we found, though, is on the eastern shore near Chieming - with the disadvantage of being in lee in normal days.

Another good spot is west of Seebruck in the North.

The greatest thing about the Chiemsee are its size and the beaty of its situation.

Coming from the north, use the B15, follow B304 east and then go south towards Seebruck - on a cury trail through many woods. In Seebruck, follow the signs to Chieming.

Coming from Munich, take A8 to Salzburg. Chosse your exit as you like. For Chieming, select the exit "Übersee".

Chieming

South of Chieming, there are the very best direct accesses to the water. There, you can also find a lake-side resort. Further south, you can find more parking places that are unfortunately on the east-side of the road.

Seebruck

West of Seebruck, we have found a big parking place that seems to have access to the water. Didn't manage to check it, yet.

Chiemsee is just a beatiful area, for short term recreation as well as a for longer vacations with it's castles, the alps and just landscape around.
